 JESSICA AT TUFTS

I tried to find out more about Jessica's life as a student, which is basically the news I can offer you now...

Jessica was very nervous about going back to Tufts because she had to arrive 3 weeks late because of the filming of "Texas Chainsaw Massacre." Her mum went to Boston with her to help her move into her dorm which was pretty daunting because it was such a small dorm room.  Students at
Tufts have to spend 2 years in a dorm, but her friends have an off-campus house that she spends most of her time at.  Since she had been gone from school for a whole year, it was nerve-wracking having to go back and get all the students used to having a celebrity around because there
is always a lot of pointing and whispering for the first few weeks. 
Obviously, this has changed now because her parents just visited her there this week and she seemed very comfortable and has a lot of close friends who treat her just like any other student :)


Viewers of '7th Heaven' must agree to me if I'm saying that Jessica has a great voice and has done a great job when singing on the show. Nevertheless Jess said that she didn't like it, although singing was an important part of her career (musicals). The reason why I'm telling you this is because... 

...Jessica was singing in a Tufts student music presentation of the musical "Tommy."  According to eyewitnesses, she did an amazing job and also had a great solo. It finally seems that Jess is gaining her confidence back about singing and even thinks about having her own band...!

Jessica Biel stopped by the Beverly Hills Sunglass Hut telling clerks she had lost her Christian Dior shades and needed a replacement. She ended up wanting a pair of Gucci and Prada shades, but when she was being rung up, a salesperson from another store came in with the missing glasses. She bought the new pairs anyways.

- Jessica recently spent a day filming an internet special for L'OREAL called, "A day in the life of Jessica Biel." - I don't know about details or when it'll be available for viewing but I will keep you up-to-date!

- Jess has to shoot 2 episodes of "7th Heaven" this week for the new fall season, and will then head back to Austin, Texas to spend the next 8 weeks shooting "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre."

Jessica has a new role in a movie, she'll be staring in a re-make of "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre."
It will(most likely) be a very scary movie, and she will spend the entire movie running, hiding, and fighting back. Here's a quick summary of the plot of the original movie (1974):

"En route to visit their grandfather's grave (which has apparently been ritualistically desecrated), five teenagers drive past a slaughterhouse, pick up (and quickly drop) a sinister hitch-hiker, eat some delicious home-cured meat at a roadside gas station, before ending up at the old family home... where they're plunged into a never-ending nightmare as they meet a family of cannibals who more than make up in power tools what they lack in social skills..."

The director has quite a reputation for his visual effects, and he hopes to terrify the audience more with the environment and scenes in the film, rather than blood and guts.

But what about her studies?
-> Jessica will have to spend 10 weeks in Austin, Texas starting July 8th to shoot the movie.  Tufts University's Dean has allowed her to miss the first 2 weeks of fall semester so she can complete the movie.
Unless, another, greater film comes up, she will still be headed to school this fall.

• During the past year Jessica has been staying in shape
  by taking ballet classes.  She may even do a summer intensive at the
  San Francisco Ballet School (if she doesn't shoot a movie... ;-).
   

Confirmation:

Jessica will (still) do 3 episodes of '7th Heaven'
sometime during the 7th year.  If she doesn't get a movie to shoot
this summer, she may be in the first 3 episodes of next season.  If
she does get a movie, she'll probably have to spread them out over
the next year while she is at Tufts.

• Jess went to the Vanity Fair after-Oscars party  

• She will be done filming 7th Heaven April 10th, although she might give them 3 more

Haven't had much time recently, so here's a quick update about what Jessica will be doing during the upcoming months:

Jess will be shooting 7th Heaven until mid-April, and then she'll be done for this year. She may do 2 or 3 episodes during the 7th year, but only if she is available from her studies or free from movies.
